Preparing the Lemon Cleaning Solution
Start by cutting the lemon in half.
Squeeze the juice from both halves into the heat-safe bowl.
Add a small amount of water to dilute the lemon juice slightly. This helps prevent excessive acidity from damaging sensitive oven surfaces.
You can also place the squeezed lemon halves into the same bowl because the peel contains additional aromatic oils that enhance cleaning effectiveness.
Heating Method for Oven Cleaning
This method uses steam and citrus vapor to loosen grease.
-
Place the bowl containing lemon juice and lemon halves inside the oven.
-
Set the oven temperature to around 120–150 degrees Celsius (250–300 degrees Fahrenheit).
-
Allow the oven to heat for about 20 to 30 minutes.
As the oven heats, lemon steam will circulate inside the oven chamber. This steam helps soften hardened grease and food residue attached to oven walls.
Do not leave the oven unattended during this process.
Cooling Down the Oven
After heating, turn off the oven.
Allow the oven to cool slightly until it becomes safe to touch but still warm.
Opening the oven door slightly during cooling can help release excess steam.
Never attempt to clean the oven while it is extremely hot because this can cause burns.
