After the procedure, a course of antibiotics is prescribed. After drainage, a small cavity remains, which should be cleaned with an antiseptic solution. A small bandage is then applied to aid healing, which generally progresses favorably.
In rare cases, patients may present with lumps in both ears. Both cysts can be safely removed using a similar, simple procedure with local anesthesia.
Never squeeze or manipulate the cyst with your fingers, as this significantly increases the risk of infection.
