3. Sterilizing the Jars
To sterilize, immerse the glass jars in boiling water for a few minutes.
Allow them to air dry completely.
4. Fill the Jars
Pour the hot tomato puree into the sterilized jars.
Add a few basil leaves if desired.
5. Seal the Jars
Seal the jars tightly and immerse them in a pot of boiling water for about 30 minutes to create a vacuum.
Let them cool completely, then store in a cool, dry, and dark place.
Important Precautions
To ensure safe and long-term storage, inspect the jars regularly.
If you notice an unusual odor, discoloration, or bulging of the lid, do not consume them; discard the contents immediately.
