Does the answer really reveal anything about one’s personality?
Many images of this type feature humorous or sensational captions suggesting that the answer reveals character traits, intelligence, or even one’s personality.
In this case, you might encounter a slogan suggesting that the answer “determines whether you’re a narcissist.”
However, it’s worth taking this with a grain of salt.
This type of riddle isn’t a psychological test and can’t diagnose someone’s personality, mental health, or character. It’s primarily an online game designed to attract attention and encourage comments.
And it must be admitted that it works very effectively.
People enjoy sharing their answers, comparing them with others, and defending their own calculations. Sometimes the comments under such a riddle are even more interesting than the image itself.

What’s the best answer?
The most reasonable answer depends on the definition used.
If you only count large, visible tears, the answer is 2.
If you consider the tears to be through both sides of the fabric, you can answer 4.
If you also count the natural openings in the skirt, i.e., the waistband and hem, you get 6.
If you also count the small holes at the drawstring, the result can be even higher.
Therefore, there’s no single answer that will satisfy everyone without first establishing a counting system.
And therein lies the charm of this puzzle.
Why are such puzzles so popular?
Such puzzles spread quickly because they’re simple, accessible, and immediately engaging. Anyone can try to answer. You don’t need to know difficult concepts or perform complex calculations.
Just look, count, and decide.
But then comes the second layer of fun: comparing your answer with others’.
This is where a simple skirt with a few holes turns into a small lesson in logical thinking.
After all, the real challenge isn’t the skirt itself.
The real challenge is how our minds decide to count what they see.
