When I searched for “red, slimy, smelly mushroom,” the search engine returned a very unpleasant and strange result. I was shocked when I realized what it was.

“Anthurus archeri – an alien mushroom known as devil’s fingers.”
Apparently, this mushroom really exists. It’s native to Australia and Tasmania, but over time it has spread throughout the world.
Initially, it looks like a white egg, but soon red tentacles emerge, resembling claws or fingers.
These tentacles are covered in a slimy substance and give off a terrible, carrion-like odor. This attracts flies, which spread the spores.
