- 4–5 large bell peppers (halved, seeds removed)
- 1 lb (450 g) ground beef or Italian sausage
- 1 cup pizza sauce or marinara
- 1 1/2 cups shredded mozzarella cheese
- 20–30 pepperoni slices
- 1/2 small onion, diced (optional)
- 2 cloves garlic, minced
- 1 tsp Italian seasoning
- Salt & pepper to taste
- Optional: mushrooms, olives, or cooked rice
