Did simple toys bring more joy?
This question often comes up in conversations about childhoods of past generations. However, the answer seems to be more related to emotions than the objects themselves.
The iconic egg-laying hen reminds us that children could find joy in the simplest things and create extraordinary stories from small toys. Perhaps that’s why such objects still evoke smiles and emotion today.
The most important thing, however, is that children’s imagination has always been the most important element of all play. Regardless of the era and available technology, it was this imagination that made even the simplest plastic hen a source of great joy.
